This Dedication Deck of foundational to intermediate Pilates exercises is a resource for Pilates teachers to provide homework for their clients to help improve mobility, flexibility, coordination and strength.

About The Pilates Habit
The Pilates Habit and Dedication Deck was borne to create a resource for Pilates teachers to be able to provide homework for their clients. Often clients request exercises they can work on in their own time. As a teacher I would spend hours drawing stick figures doing Pilates exercise sequences and writing out instructions, reps and modifications for my clients. I'm no artist, was time poor and really wanted something easy to provide for my clients. So I created the Dedication Deck .
About the Dedication Deck
Who is the Dedication Deck for?
The Dedication Deck was created because I spent so long writing out plans, drawing stick figures and sequences and writing out instructions that I just wanted something tactile to be able to give to a client. The product didn't exist. So I created it. It's been in my head since I was a client 7 years ago but only has come to fruition now.
As a resource for teachers, the decks can be purchased ready to sell in the studio or in a session. Or alternatively they could be included in the client's initial consultation cost so your client is equipped for practising at home.
You can choose homework exercises suitable for your client and teach those exercises in the session so the client knows how to complete the exercises safely, correctly and with modifications specific to them. As they progress you can choose different homework exercises. Or if they have an injury you can choose exercises that will support the client's rehabilitation.
The Dedicaton Deck pilates exercise cards are a reminder for your client when practising independently at home.

A Gold Coast based sole-trader, graphic designer worked on the design of the cards, illustrations and logo - no AI here. Thank you Elisha!
The cards and swing tags are all printed on 100% recycled paper card using vegetable based ink and not petroleum based ink. No plastic lamination or metallic inks have been used. When the decks are delivered, even the packaging was reduced to bare minimum and completely plastic-free. The printing business is located in both Victoria and New South Wales.
The logo stamp you see on the mailing box and drawstring bag was crafted in Australia using FSC certified hardwood with water-based inks by a small business in Victoria. The stamp is reusable for many stampings to come.
The drawstring bag is made from 100% hemp with a natural fibre cord and swingtag string. A local Australian business in NSW sources the hemp bags from China. The local business has been trading since 2007 and promotes all things sustainable bag products. Hemp is a natural, sustainable product and uses less water than cotton to produce.
Our website domain name and email hosting is also via an Australian company that has a 24/7 helpdesk and all questions answered by a real person. You can even call them!
We happily support Aussie businesses so they can employ locals and keep trading for years to come.

This is completely up to you. You could have multiple decks that you have ordered, ready in your studio for clients to purchase at the time of their session/class. Alternatively you could include the Dedication Deck within the cost of their initial consultation so your client is equipped for practising at home. You can choose homework exercises suitable for your client and teach those exercises in the session so the client knows how to complete the exercises safely, correctly and with modifications specific to them. The Dedicaton Deck exercise cards are a reminder for your client when practising independently at home.
If you do not stock the Dedication Decks, you can direct clients to us to purchase a deck for themselves.
As a client you should check with your teacher/studio to see if they have Dedication Decks available to purchase and if the exercises are suitable for you. Your teacher can choose which homework exercises are suitable for you, and can teach them in your session with any modifications that may be needed. If the studio does not have decks available, you can purchase directly from us.
The Pilates cards on the market currently are are either from international locations and aren't able to be purchased in Australia, or use language cues that is specific to the school in which the creator of that deck learnt through. Such cuing is beneficial for clients and teachers from those schools, however not everone is able to understand the cues.
The Dedication Deck uses simple and concise cuing, using body parts that most people would be able to understand. Exercises in this deck also have some traditional exercises separated into 2 cards or a variation of an exercise that may be typically provided to someone that does not have full range of motion.
The Dedication Deck also provides a starting position illustration and then a sequence of illustrations showing the exercise movement. This allows the client to fully understand the whole exercise.

The Dedication Deck of Pilates cards was designed as a resource to assist Pilates teachers to provide homework exercises for clients to work on independently between sessions. In-person sessions are fantastic however not everyone lives within close range to a studio or has the time available to see a teacher a few times a week. These cards are perfect for these clients. In Australia especially, many people live in remote or rural locations where Pilates teachers and studios aren't convenient or nearby.
